Deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean in October 2023 as a deterrence measure following the Hamas attack on Israel. The Ford CSG provided integrated air and missile defense coverage and served as a visible signal of US commitment to regional stability.
Deployed to the Red Sea and Arabian Sea in late 2023 to conduct sustained combat operations against Houthi forces targeting international shipping. The Eisenhower CSG intercepted numerous anti-ship ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones during an extended combat deployment, one of the most intense for a carrier since World War II.
Deployed to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility in August 2024, replacing the USS Theodore Roosevelt CSG. The Lincoln CSG was positioned in the Arabian Sea as a deterrent during the heightened tensions following Iran's second ballistic missile attack on Israel in October 2024. The air wing included F-35C Lightning II for the first time in the region.
HMS Queen Elizabeth deployed with Carrier Strike Group 2024 to the Eastern Mediterranean in early 2024, conducting joint exercises with allied forces and maintaining a presence as part of NATO and coalition efforts in the region. F-35B aircraft conducted missions in support of Operation Shader against ISIS remnants.
